Sharjah Municipality Imposes Dh500 Fine for Wrong Parking

Sharjah Municipality has issued a warning for the incurring of fine of Dh500 for wrong parking in residential areas. In order to keep the city away from the hazardous parking situations in the residential areas, the Sharjah Municipality is taking strong measures by evoking the knowledge about it among the masses and enhancing the range of investigations. Not only the fine but the offenders will also face a penalty of resolving the tedious circumstances caused due to wrong parking.

The campaign will also target the lifting of cars left on road for longer durations. This will be done to maintain the cleanliness around the city and to avoid the distortion of the public views.

The Director General of Sharjah Municipality Riyad Al Ellan stated that the campaign from the municipality will continue to thrive through social media awareness and sending text messages to thousands of residents. The consequences of the parking violations will also be highlighted through distribution of 500 Pamphlets.

According to Omar Al Sharji who is the Director Public Services of municipality, 468 fines were issued to the vehicles for wrong parking and 136 warnings were delivered to heavy trucks parked in residential areas in year 2015. He told that the most important purpose of this whole campaign was to ensure that beauty and galore of the city remains intact all the time.
