After an alert from the Interpol, a million dirhams limited edition Ferrari had been seized by Dubai Police for Traffic Violations and its sale had been put on hold as a result.

As quoted by Arabic Daily Al Emarat Al Youm on Tuesday, the Director General of the Traffic Department of Dubai Police “Saif Mohair Al Mazrouei” told that this is a limited 2002 Edition of Ferrari that was made on special request of a limited number of customers. Only 300 of such cars were brought to the international market that traded at almost Dh11 Million.

According to the News Paper the Car was in custody for six long years.

It is revealed that a Resident of UAE had bought this car but later it was disclosed that the Interpol had issued an alert over it and it was already delivered to the Dubai Police.

According to Saif Mohair Al Mazrouei a US car enthusiast for rare cars made an offer of Dh6m for the limited Edition Ferrari but it could not have been sold due to legal complications faced by it. He also told that the number of impounded cars has risen from 4267 impounded cars in 2014 to 4479 in 2015 showing a clear 11% increase.

Saif Mohair Al Mazrouei informed of the maximum fine of Dh6000 that could be imposed to the motorists for traffic violations in the light of the country laws. In case of the fines not being paid by the owners, their cars will be impounded till they don’t pay the fines. He also made it clear that the owners of the impounded cars were continually being contacted to pay their fines and get their cars released.

Saif Mohair Al Mazrouei also projected the possibility of the fines to be paid in installments and that the cars will be released once the fines were paid. There was not any set period for the impoundment of cars.

Police reserves the right to put any car on sale whose owner did not pay its fine or improved on the irregularities in three months.
