Dubai Traffic Department has revealed detailed facts about run-over accidents in the Emirate and according to these facts, a total of 818 tickets were issued in the first quarter of 2017 in Dubai for crossing the road from non-designated areas as it is one of the biggest reasons for run-over accidents. In 114 run-over incidents in Dubai, 13 people lost their lives while 124 people got injured in the first quarter of 2017.

According to the Director General of the Traffic Department at Dubai Police, Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, in the first quarter of 2016, a total of 357 run-over incidents were recorded in Dubai that caused 49 fatalities and 376 people got injured. The figures clearly show a significant decrease in run-over accidents in 2017.
