Updated on 27/12/2019: RTA has announced the results of its 103rd Open Auction that was recently held in Dubai. According to the expectations, it proved to be another successful number plate event as RTA fetched AED 19.751 million from the sales of special number plates. The special plate S70 attracted the highest bid of AED 1.9 million, closely followed by the new generation double coded number plate AA99 that went for AED 1.82 million. In other significant results, the H333 plate was sold for AED 970,000 at RTA’s last auction of 2019.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai is all set to offer double coded unique number plates at its upcoming Open Auction. This will be RTA’s 103rd Open Auction, where a large variety of special number plates will be offered. Details of the Upcoming Event
The auction for special number plates will be RTA’s 103rd and this year’s last auction. Understandably, RTA is going to offer a prestigious lineup of special number plates at this event to make this year’s last auction a memorable event. The auction will be held at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City Hotel on Saturday, December 21. The event will start at 4:00 PM while interested bidders can also get themselves registered on the auction day from 2:00 PM. It is expected to be yet another successful number plate event like the previous RTA auctions. It must be noted that all the number plates sold at the event will be subject to 5% Value Added Tax (VAT).
The lineup of special number plates includes some of the most highly anticipated distinctive numbers. The number plates available at the auction will bear H,I,K,L,M,N,O,P,Q,R,S,T,U,V,W,X,Z letters. In addition to this, the special new generation double coded special number plates such as AA1111, AA111 and AA99 among others will be introduced for the first time. The highlight of the event will be the “O 10” plate, which bears the highest face value (AED 18,00,000) at the upcoming event. How to Register for the Upcoming Auction?
The registration for the upcoming auction has started from December 16, 2019. The procedure for registration is simple and RTA has also issued guidelines to register for the event. Customers can either register through the RTA Customer Happiness Centres at Umm Ramool, Deira and Al Barsha or through the RTA website www.rta.ae.
Here are some of the important guidelines that interested bidders must follow to get registered for the 103rd RTA auction:
- Interested bidders must have a traffic file in the emirate of Dubai.
- For participation, a deposit cheque of AED 25,000 must be submitted at the time of registration. This will be returned to the bidders if their bids for number plates remain unsuccessful.
- Interested bidders will have to pay an entry fee of AED 120.
- Successful bidders must pay their bid amount within 10 days of the end of the event, otherwise, their deposit will be confiscated and their name will be placed on the list of defaulters.
- The price of a number plate will be inclusive of the 5% VAT.
