Details of the Upcoming Event
The auction for 90 special plates will be RTA’s 104th Open Auction where a distinguished lineup of special number plates will be available. The event will be held at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai on Saturday, March 14. The auction will start at 4:30 PM and number plate enthusiasts can also get themselves registered at the auction day till 2:00 PM. All the 90 premium number plates sold at the auction will be subject to a 5% Value Added Tax (VAT).
At the auction, the special number plates with two, three, four and five digits will be offered. Some of the standout special number plates that will be up for grabs at the upcoming event include J 40, M 71, O 717, I 333, W 5050 and Q 20202. These plates will bear unique codes (C-E-H-I-J-K-L-M-N-O-P-Q-R-S-T-U-V-W and Z) to provide number plate enthusiasts with a wide variety of options.

Registration Procedure for the Upcoming Auction
The registration for RTA’s upcoming Open Auction will start From March 8, 2020. RTA has issued guidelines and instructions for bidders who want to register for the event. The process for registration is simple and interested bidders can either register through the RTA Customer Happiness Centres at Umm Ramool, Deira and Al Barsha or through the RTA website (www.rta.ae).
Here are some of the essential instructions that the interested bidders need to follow to get registered for the 104th Open Auction by RTA:
- Every bidder should have a traffic file in Dubai.
- For participation, the interested bidders are required to submit a security cheque of AED 25,000 in the name of the Roads and Transport Authority. This deposit will be returned to the bidders if their bids remain unsuccessful.
- Interested bidders have to pay a non-refundable auction fee of AED 120.
- The successful bidders need to pay their bid amount within 10 working days after the event, otherwise, their deposit will be seized by the RTA and their names will be blacklisted.
- The price of a number plate will be inclusive of 5% Value Added Tax (VAT).
