The Road and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai is all set to offer special number plates in its 51st Online Auction, which will be held on Jan 28, 2018. The registration for another exclusive online number plate auction event by RTA has already been opened and anyone with a valid driving license in Dubai can apply to bid for the number plates.
The 51st Online Auction by RTA is expected to be a well-contested event between the number plate enthusiasts as some exclusive number plates will be on offer. A new development that all the interested bidders must know ahead of getting themselves registered for the auction is that 5% VAT will be applied to the price of all number plates.
Details of the 51st Online Auction by RTA
The 51st Online Auction for special number plates is a highly anticipated event by RTA just like all previous online auctions. The bidding process of online auction of special number plates will start at 8:00 AM on January 28, 2018 and the auction will continue for next five days. A variety of exclusive number plates bearing A, B, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S and T codes will be up for grabs at the event.

The special number plates are mostly quite expensive, however, RTA will also offer some affordable special number plates for bidding at the upcoming online auction. The number plates in private categories will be available at a starting price of AED 1,000, which will go as high as AED 42,000 for exclusive plates.

How to Participate in the 51st Online Auction by RTA?
The registration for online auction by RTA is now open and interest bidders can get themselves registered for the event. To participate in the 51st Online Auction, interested bidders must either have an account on the RTA website www.rta.ae or they will need to register for the auction as a new user. The new users must have a valid Dubai-based driving license or their vehicles must be registered in Dubai.
The participation fee for the 51st Online Auction for special number plates is AED 120. A security fee of AED 5,000 must also be deposited online through debit card or credit card or at any of the Customer Happiness Centers of RTA in Bur Dubai, Deira, Al Twar Municipal Centre and Umm Al Ramool.

Payment Procedure for Successful Bidders
Successful bidders can pay for the special number plates online through their credit or debit card. Customers can also pay in cash for any amount less than AED 50,000 at the Customer Happiness Centers of RTA. For payments exceeding AED 50,000, customers will either need to pay through credit card/debit card or they will have to issue a certified cheque. Customers who fail to make payment against the special number plates within 10 days of the end of the event will be listed as defaulters and their successful bids will be cancelled.
