Exterior

“Designed for more than just looks,” the 2018 BMW M5 has multiple design cues that it shares with the luxurious 5 Series. It has a similar wide rear end with wraparound taillights while it still holds on to the iconic M-specific design elements with ease and pride.

The 2018 BMW M5 has a redesigned front fascia with larger air intakes that add to the aggressive appearance of the sedan while at the same time enhance the cooling function of the engine. The iconic kidney grille remains the same with chrome accents around it, however, it is now available in Shadowline package in which the entire grille will be in black color.

The 2018 M5 has an M-specific hood at the front to bring a more muscular and aerodynamic look to the sedan. The hood has been made with aluminum while the roof of the sedan has been made with carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic to decrease the weight of the vehicle and make it more agile.

Moving towards the sides of the sedan, one will notice that the front fenders are now more muscular and broader than before. The side skirts have been revised and to complement the new design, BMW designers have lowered the height of the vehicle.

The signature M gills can be found on the front fenders that add to the sporty appeal of the sedan while a single character line running from the front to taillights brings a very contemporary appeal to the 2018 M5. The wheelbase of the vehicle is broader and wider than before, which is complemented by the 19-inch double spoke light alloy wheels.
