In 2008, nearly 200 units of the model were recalled due to a seat belt buckle that could detach. The locking bawls would detach in the event of an accident and thus proffer no protection to the inhabitants of the vehicle.

The B-class was also recalled in 2010 for a possible fuel leak. 147 units were recalled so that car assessment could be done to fix the vent pipe that was not to specification. This could lead to a leak into the charcoal canister and over time result into a fuel leak.

The same model was recalled in 2012 for faulty transmission. There was a frictional connection in the clutch within the gear box that would go out of tolerance as well as emitting a chattering noise.
