Most of the automobile manufacturing brands out there are always surrounded by the question that, “how can I advertise my ride!” Moreover, their technical and marketing team is always in search of tactics that can be used to gain attention of the enormous group of car lovers out there. If you are reading this blog section at the moment, then it is pretty much obvious that you are one of those car enthusiasts as well. If yes, then good news for you is that Nissan has confirmed that the Nissan GTR will go Hybrid in the year 2015.

As per the wording of Andy Palmer, the Executive Vice President of Nissan, “There is an inevitability about electrification of all cars in the future, and there is the very real prospect of enhancements coming from it on a sports car like the Nissan GT-R. The electric systems can fill in the gaps in the torque curve and offer genuine performance gains, as well as lowering emissions. It’s win-win, and I’d expect to see some form of hybridization on the next generation of car.”

The current mode of GT-R is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 that produces 463 pound-feet of torque and 545 horsepower. Well, it is a quite general figure because most of the Godzilla motors are hand-built and have a distinctive power rating as compared to the previous models. Out of all of those, most of them are rated at 0-60 mph in a small timeframe of 2.8 seconds. These days, not only just Nissan, but most of the car brands are looking forward to going hybrid. For an instance, the best example would be of Ferrari that is heading forward towards launching hybrid model named LaFerrari.

There is no denial in the fact that Nissan is extremely obsessed with Nurburgring lap times. Moreover, the brand is thinking of bolting a few electrical bits to the next-gen GT-R. To justify the statement, let us have a look at the statement (regarding the next-gen GT-R’s ‘Ring records) that Palmer passed on to Autocar. He said that, “We hope to offer improvements with each model year, enhancing things like the aerodynamic capabilities and engine each time. The benchmark of that will be our ‘Ring time, and we expect to see it come down each year.”

Well, the idea behind the hybrid GT-R sounds really very interesting. Most of the Nissan fans are expecting the brand to come up with something matching accurately to their expectations. Here, another interesting fact is that if the brand does some of the best modifications with the car, then it can skew some more mainstream in price. Alongside, if it remains to be a $100,000 supercar, the obviously the brand will need to take a step higher in the luxury game. Expected release date of the GT-R is somewhere in around 2015. Let’s just wait and watch what the brand has to offer to please us!
