Dubai Police has launched a new and efficient radar to catch the road shoulder violations. On Monday, the General Department of Traffic launched the new radar at Gitex 2016. The Director of the General Department of Traffic, Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui told about the precision and accuracy of the new radar that it can take clear pictures of the violating vehicle from the rear and front effectively. If a car violates the road shoulder law, this new radar will be able to take clear pictures of the offender’s vehicle in a matter of seconds.

Dubai Police Aims To Reduce Road Shoulder Violations
The new radar is said to be very proficient. Apart from taking clear pictures, it will also record the offending vehicle within 10 seconds of entering the prohibited area of the road. According to Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, this new radar system was created specifically for the road shoulder offenders and to improve the overall monitoring standards of road shoulder violation.
He also brought to notice the fact that such violations can result in serious accidents. Since this area on the road is dedicated to vehicles in emergency, police and ambulance, a disorderly entry to this area can have fatal consequences.
This new radar will be keeping all of its information in its CPU. As it is programed to monitor the prohibited areas of the road, it is expected to be quite efficient and help Dubai Police in lessening the road shoulder violations. The radar is very small, light and easily movable. According to Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, it can be used via solar power, electricity or it can be powered by a battery as well.
Why Road Shoulder Violations Are Prohibited
Driving on the road shoulder is prohibited in Dubai because this is an area restricted to emergency vehicles including police cars and ambulances. The danger of a possible collision with these emergency vehicles heightens if any other vehicle from the road shifts to the road shoulder. This is a serious traffic violation and must be avoided by the motorists in Dubai.
