In the United Arab Emirates, lots of automotive sale events are conducted so as to bridge the gap between the persuasive buyers and the sellers. Automobile industry is one such blooming industry of the Dubai that has been surging at a very rapid rate. In the Middle East, the trends of cars selling are far different from other countries of the world. Here, the roads are tough and the climate is a bit trickier to be tackled. Hence, the cars that are sold in the Dubai are made in such a way that they can run smoothly on even the toughest roads of the Arabian nations. Well, all this is about the general categorization and generalization of the Dubai cars. But, our main motive in this particular write-up is to inform you all about the new Jeep Cherokee.
It is named as the 2014 diesel Grand Cherokee Summit that is speculated to be sold at the starting rate of $57,000. In his recent appearance at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, Mike Manley, Jeep’s Chief Executive said that, “Once you hit that level, the market shrinks significantly. It’s a tough market, but what we’ve seen with the [high-end Grand Cherokees] is that we can really compete there.” The Jeep is planning to set a tough competition for powerful brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Volkswagen by equipping the model with features such as 470-horsepower engine, a panoramic sunroof, 8.4-inch touch-screen infotainment and navigation system, power lift gate, heated steering wheel, backup camera, forward collision mitigation and blind-spot monitoring.
The Jeep is rumored to be sharing the chassis with the current generation of Mercedes ML SUV. The vehicle’s best attribute is the 420 pound-feet torque that can make the SUV efficient enough to tow the weight of as much as 7,400 pounds. In the car, a fuel-efficient eight-speed automatic transmission has been fitted, which drastically reduces its fuel intake. On the other hand, if we analyze the EPA rates, then it can be said that the diesel version of the new Jeep has EPA rate of 28 mpg on the highway and 21 miles per gallon in the city. At present, the cheapest diesel Grand Cherokee that is available for purchase in the market costs around $41,590
Adding to his comments, Manley said that, “I think [high-end models] are going to be a proxy to what else we can do with diesel. This is like a litmus test for us.”
For the people who are used to enjoying pleasurable rides in their BMWs, there is one big flaw that the diesel model of Grand Cherokee has to offer. The biggest difference lies in the look and feel of the interior. Well, as compared to the luxurious car models, the interior of the Jeep is pretty much rustier, unpleasant and uncomfortable. So, if you are an ordinary buyer, then Jeep has the best features for you. But, if you are a BMW rider, then the Jeep can disappoint you a little bit.
