The 2015 Mercedes C-Class has been revealed, with a complete redesign that looks like a miniature S-Class.

The new model is 95 mm longer with 80 mm extra wheelbase, 40 mm wider and up to 100 kg lighter than the model it replaces. Three different suspension setups will be offered, including a first-in-class air suspension option.

Inside, most dashboard buttons have been replaced by a screen which can be accessed via a rotary controller or an optional touchpad. Various optional safety systems include Active Parking Assist, Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus and Traffic Sign Assist with Wrong-Way Alert.

Among the variants on offer will be the C180 with a 156 hp 1.6-litre turbo 4-cylinder, the C200 with a 184 hp 2.0-litre turbo 4-cylinder, the C300 with a 235 hp 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder and the C400 with a 329 hp 3.0-litre turbo V6, both mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission and either rear-wheel-drive or optional “4Matic” all-wheel-drive. Europe further gets a range of “Bluetec” diesel engines.

Further engine variants are expected to be released later. The new model should hit GCC showrooms by the second half of 2014.
