Maintenance Schedule

Your car mechanic engineer is a merchant after all he aims first at getting your money prior to fixing your car! It is good to be aware of the maintenance that your car receives but it is also important not to neglect your regular maintenance. Most of the drivers do not do regular maintenance check as long as their cars are running properly. Bellow, we list a few mistakes that are widely committed against car maintenance:

  • Oil changing is a must every 3,000 miles, just like you defragment your computer every while. Today, your car manufacturer will inform you about the schedules of engine oil and lubricants changing timing. Some cars will not require changing the oil before 5,000-mile change, others go up to 15,000-mile.
  • Breaks are in your car to save you more than your car. Once you hear or notice anything different about your brakes; sound, feel or response; it is for your safety’s sake to answer their call for checking them.
  • If the most expensive thing you bought in your life is your house, then the second will be your car. If you’re paying all that money, then why don’t you make use of your garage to park your car rather than storing boxes and old stuff? Protect your car of the sun’s effects, bird’s droppings, and children’s scratches and park your car in the garage.
  • You may sometimes avoid visiting the car mechanic if your “check engine” light is on. You just need to get out of your car and check if the gas cap is tightened since a loose gas cap causes failure to the fuel system and turn the “check engine” light.
  • Just as we, as humans, cannot run around with an apple in our mouth, our cars cannot run with dirty filters. Your maintenance schedule will tell you how often you need to change your filters but if you usually drive through sand or mud, toy may need to change them twice as the schedule states.
  • Just as we said about your mechanic interest in your money, so does tires manufacturers. It all depends on heat, sunlight and the conditions of your environment. There’s no clear cut timing for changing your car’s tires but if you’re not sure how old your tires are, a tire shop can read the date code stamped into the sidewall and evaluate if you need to change them or you may go on driving on them.
