Hyundai Recalls Over 138,000 Tucson SUVs

South Korean automobile manufacturer Hyundai has issued a voluntary recall for a large number of its sports utility vehicles branded Tucson. The problem seems to be connected to the air bags and this is set to have the hearts of the owners in an uneasy state seeing as it concerns their safety directly and in effect reducing the used car value.

Hyundai says the Tucson may have driver’s-air bags that are not properly attached to the steering wheel. Apparently the bolts holding the air bag module to the steering wheel were not tightened properly and it may come loose and thus increase the risk of injury in the event of an accident.

This development with the SUV from the South Korean manufacturer does not in any way reassure those in the car market who had already set eyes on it. Hyundai claims the driver may notice the problem as a rattle. This already sets the hypothetical alarms ringing forcing the owner to analyse car value and try their hand at the used car market so as to distance themselves from the potential danger.

The recall was issued in accordance with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration regulations.
