Gas Pedal Flaw Forces Toyota to Halt Corolla Production

Japanese auto maker Toyota has a staunch following in the car market and as such the company has managed to cover various parts of the globe with its rolling merchandise. However when one of the largest automobile companies in terms of sales suspends the manufacture and sale of a number of its most popular models (the Corolla being one of them), there is a reason to worry seeing that it has garnered trust over the years for safety.

Toyota issued massive recalls with the number of units involved extending into the millions. The recall is due to the fact that there is an intrinsic mechanical flaw that can get the gas pedal stuck in the depressed position. There are also reports that the floor mat on the driver’s side can also emulate this same problem and get the accelerator depressed for long.

Selling used cars of the Corolla make is a pretty viable option right now. You do not want to be flying down the high way and then have the gas pedal stay depressed as you approach a hair pin bend. The manufacturer found massive difficulties in getting a solution to the problem and it would make sense in assessing car value to see what you can get out of it before the value depreciates any further.
