Fuel Prices Decreased for the Month of April in the UAE

The Ministry of Energy in the UAE announced the fuel prices on Tuesday and for the first time in 2017, fuel prices have been decreased. The constant rise in fuel prices in the first three months of 2017 mounted pressure on motorists to manage their fuel expenses and the reduction in the April fuel prices will certainly be welcomed by motorists all over the UAE.

A complete analysis of the fuel prices of last 12 months (April 2016 – April 2017) in the UAE clearly shows the gradual increase in the prices for most of the months. There were only two instances before the April 2017 when the fuel prices decreased. The first decline in the fuel prices was observed in the August 2016 and the other significant decrease was made to the fuel prices in December 2016. Other than that, fuel prices only increased because of a historic agreement signed between the OPEC and non-OPEC members to reduce the production of oil to 1.8 million barrels per day in order to maintain the oil prices.

New Fuel Prices in the UAE

Fuel prices have continuously increased in 2017 and April will be the first month of the year to record a decline in price. The decrease made to fuel prices for the month of April is not huge but any decrease in the price of fuel will be welcomed by the UAE motorists.

Listed below are the new prices of the different types of fuel in the UAE.

  • Price of Super 98 will be AED 1.95/Litre
  • Price of Special 95 will be AED 1.84/Litre
  • Price of E-Plus 91 will be AED 1.77/Litre
  • Price of Diesel will be AED 1.95/Litre

The price of Super 98 has been reduced from AED 2.03/Litre to AED 1.95/Litre. The Special 95 and E-Plus 91 have also observed a similar decrease of AED 0.08/Litre in the price. The price of diesel has decreased to AED 1.95/Litre from AED 2.02/Litre.
