Ford Recalls Several Units of Edge Due to Potential Fire Hazard

Ford forayed into the world of environmental friendliness, a measure of heightening its car rating, by introducing the EcoBoost engine to many of its fleet models. One of the models from the American car maker to benefit from this treatment was the Ford Edge crossover Sports utility vehicle.

This innovation has led many people in the car market to opt for this because of the current eco friendly mentality in the global society. There has however been a fault associated with the EcoBoost engines that has led to the car company to recall more than 5,500 of the Edge SUVs from the model year 2012 whose engines were of the 2 liter capacity.

Ford Motor Company said in a statement that a fuel line leak could very possibly occur due to a defective fuel line pulse damper housing that was manufactured in Michigan. The car maker was aware of 11 fuel leaks but as yet no fires had yet been reported.

So however much you would like to protect the environment, it is more prudent to protect your life first so that you can live in the said environment. It is high you engaged in a car trade in.
