Faulty Brake Caliper in Ford Mondeo

Many people base their car rating on the nostalgic effect their old cars give them. The individual car history may be composed of many nuggets of good memories forming quite a happy montage that one may not want to let their car go.

The Ford Mondeo has been around for quite a while and those with the earlier models that are still functional are quite happy with the product that they bought way back then. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and this piece of automobile engineering is no exception to this rule.

The Mondeo was recalled back in 1995 due to a problem in the right brake assembly. Some of the units were fitted with a right hand brake caliper whose casting was not to specification. Over time as the car is driven, there may be loss of brake fluid and as such one brake circuit may be rendered ineffective.

Since many people nowadays would go in for the newer models, the older models find themselves in the used car market and one should take care acquiring one before checking out the braking mechanism of the car.

All in all great car, but it is probably high time to turn it in for a newer one.
