Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched its 31st online auction for 300 distinguished number plates for cars registered within the Emirate. The vehicle number plates ranging from code I, J, K, L, M, N, O and P includes a range of 4 and 5 digit plates which will be awarded in an open, competitive and transparent bidding process. A distinguished number plate is a statement in itself and offers pride and status to the holder and definitely increases the value of the vehicle associated with it.
The Director of Vehicles Licensing at the Transport Authority, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Kareem Nimaat said that previous auctions have attracted participation widely from the public and certain communities and the process has always been smooth, hassle free and time saving. Too participate in the process, bidders are required to have or to open an account in the RTA website. They also need to have a Dubai registered vehicle or a driver’s license issued in Dubai.
If you have all these requirements, then you definitely qualify as a bidder. There is a security deposit of Dh5,000 that each bidder should deposit with the Roads and Transport Authority at any of their customer service centers in Dubai where the staff can also assist with the registration process if needed. The centers are located in Bur Dubai, Umm Ramool, Deira and Al Taway Municipal Center.
