Locally, the study is meant to seek out the developments in the field and strategic insights in the standards, specification, infrastructure and safety indicators.

The smart cars technology

Global car market researchers as well as ecological experts have been very keen on the introduction of systems that define smart mobility. The introduction of hybrid and electric cars has been a great advancement and the market is set for yet improved developments with the driverless car technology.

Car features and fitting that include smart sensors that can detect other vehicles, road conditions, movement of pedestrians and changing traffic lights are just some of the highlights in this technology. The car is meant to self-censor whenever it senses any of the programmed conditions and effectively restart as soon as it is safe to do so. Other options include a technology based control centre for operating such cars especially in the public transport sector.
Road Safety Implications

At a time when driver error has been singled out as one of the highest cause of road accidents; this technology seems to be the right solution in addressing this issue.
