Driving tips during holy month of Ramadan

From last four to five years, the holy month of Ramadan starting in summers in UAE. During this period of time, there are several summer festivals happening for all to enjoy. Due to shortage in working times and increased in shopping activities, we can see an increase in traffic during nights as well as in mornings. After all, the temperature goes above 50 degrees which will make hell for people to go for outdoor activity. If you have children in a car and no air conditioning, the drive will result in a brutal activity. Lots of incidents were reported in different cities of UAE, where children left behind by their parents in a car with no air conditioning, for a period of time. This may result in fatal accidents so one should avoid it.

Here are few tips that may help you while out driving during summers.

  • Keep a small cooler in the car, or take extra bottles of frozen water for each passenger to avoid dehydration.
  • Do not forget to check the parts of car, like tires shape, their pressure, and fluid in car, transmission, radiator, oil, belts, filters, wipers and hoses. Take your car for an oil change if you feel your engine is producing noises.
  • Always carry extra tire in your trunk for an emergency
  • If you are feeling heat sitting in your car at 50 degrees Celsius of temperature. But you should look for an activity to divert your mind from extreme conditions. Like tune on your radio and try to enjoy it.
  • Try working staggered hours to avoid rush hour traffic
  • You should use protectors on dashboard to avoid fading of your dashboard and adversely it will make your car a little bit cooler.
  • Be patient while driving. Drive slow
  • One of the worst moment while driving is not to minimize your mistakes but also try to avoid others mistake and drive defensively.
  • People become agitated in the shear heat and without eating enough. So maintain distance with other cars.
  • Always carry your proof of motor insurance and ownership booklet with you.
  • Avoid breaking laws and signals. Because it will get you in trouble and sometimes others will get affected by your acts.

Maybe these tricks are old and you are already aware of it, but a reminder is a good technique. The focus is on the safe driving on the road and safety of your family.
