This is the CT6, Cadillac’s huge bet on the future

General Motors LLC has unleashed the CT6 under Cadillac. The brand has a long car history of churning out luxury automobiles but has been absent from the flagship sedan segment since the discontinuation of the DTS series.

GM has been giving glimpses of the CT6 – an acronym for Cadillac Touring 6 – for quite a while now so as to whet the appetite of prospective buyers. Just like rival Lincoln that released a concept of its giant Continental model, GM has realized that the car market is more receptive to luxury marques that have a big flagship in the lineup that they front.

The car rating of these huge sedans has gone up with the replacement of the huge V8 engines. The CT6, just like the Continental, is equipped with a 3 liter twin turbo V6 engine that churns out power worth 400 horses as well as a torque of 400ft-lb. The car has also been fitted with an upgraded version of Cue, Cadillac’s infotainment system. This is positively a far cry from the frustratingly halting earlier version. The new version has a readily responsive touch pad on the central console.
