Championship of Sheikh Marwan bin Rashid Al Mualla for “Solo Race” kicked off in the first version on Saturday January 18 where the championship consists of five rounds. The Championship of Sheikh Marwan bin Rashid Al Mualla was held under the patronage of Sheikh Marwan bin Rashid Al Mualla, Chairman of Emirates motorplex club.
This tournament witnessed a participation of contestants from Egypt where the participation of the Egyptian team came by an invitation from Sheikh Marwan bin Rashid Al Mualla where he took care and covered the full expenses, attendance and participation of the Egyptian champions of the speed challenge in the United Arab Emirates to participate in this competition and Sheikh Marwan bin Rashid Al Mualla mentioned that the Egyptian champions will take many training practices at the Academy of rally in the United Arab Emirates Motorplex club. The tournament witnessed a strong participation from many racers who adore and love these races that rely on high skills and excitement in the leadership and a real test for the racers’ mental and physical abilities where the “Solo race” has a huge presence of many fans of the motorsport and desert rally.
The club of the United Arab Emirates Motorplex is the first place who organized the “Solo Race” in the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf region.
The race competitions consisted of three stages which started from the “Off Road” circuit in the Emirates Motorplex club to a distance of 40 kilometers into the desert which is characterized by beautiful sandy terrain natural and many difficulties for the cars and drivers as well where this desert need professional drivers with unique features for cars in order to go through it smoothly in a short period.
The “Solo Race” was divided into four categories which are the PRO category, UTV category, motorcycles with four tires category and the autocross motorcycles category. The organizing committee of the race prepared the “Solo Race” track and supervised on all the processes where the results of the race was calculated through a sophisticated and precise system of timing which is specialized in calculating the time that every racer took to pass the race.
The committee of this event thanked Sheikh Marwan bin Rashid Al Mualla for his sponsorship and unlimited support for the motorcycles and cars sport especially the Sheikh Marwan bin Rashid Al Mualla “Solo Race” in 2014. The organizing committee thanked the contestants on their participation in the championships organized by the Emirates Motorplex club at the last two seasonal years and urged the rest of the racers to participate in the “Solo Race” to acquire more skills in special places which is specialized in these races under the supervision and guidance of the rally contestants who have the experience and high efficiency to avoid accidents resulting from racing in sandy areas.
