Baluchi controls the Awafi hill race

About 20 thousand people saw the Awafi Hill Championship for escalation and sandy hill climbing by vehicles equipped with special customization in the framework of the activities of the eleventh session of the Awafi Festival in Ras Al Khaimah currently ongoing in the emirate.
Attended the tournament Sheikh Mohammed bin Kayed Al Qasimi – Chairman of the Economic Development Department in Ras Al Khaimah and vice president of the Higher Organizing Committee of the festival, Ahmed Obaid Al Tunaiji – General supervisor of the festival, a number of elders and officials and dignitaries, athletes and champions of cars sport and escalation and sand hills climbing champions.
The number of participants in the tournament which was held under the auspices of the Motor Sports and motorcycles Federation reaches 44 of the escalation “Elaroob” Champions in the UAE and the GCC countries while the total height of the “Awafi Hill” in the current version of the tournament for about 70 meters according to the organizer. The tournament continued about four and a half hours, and the Organizing Committee spotted cash prizes for the winners with a total value amounted to 200 thousand dirham including cups.
The Champions of the UAE swept the first places in the tournament where the Emirati champion “Khalid Al Balushi” who led his team “Annabi” to the Drag Race World Championship crowned with the first place in the first category of “8 cylinders full” and this is the strongest category in the tournament. He achieved a time of 4.361 seconds while the second place was for the Emirati “Yusuf Mohamed Ali” with a time of 4.496 seconds and Emirati “Abdulrahman Alcelany” came in the third place with a time of 4.554 seconds. The Emirati champion “Khalid Al Balushi” also took the first place in the category of the “6 cylinders full” with a time of 4.703 seconds while the second place went to the Emirati “Abdulrahman Alcelany” with a time of 4.850 seconds and the third place went to the Emirati “Yusuf Mohamed Ali”.
The Emirati “Mohammed Sultan” accounted the first place in the category of “standard fitted” while finishing second place the Emirati “Yusuf Ahmed Al Balushi” and Emirati “Majed Alkamita” came in third place. Emirati champion “Obaid Saif Alrayhi” won the first place in the category of “6 cylinder turbo manual transmission” followed by the Emirati “Khaled bin Turki Al Habsi” in the second place and third place went to Emirati “Khalfan Khalfan Matar”.
The Organizing Committee of the Awafi Festival in Ras Al Khaimah mentioned that the crowd attended the tournament came from various UAE citizens and residents. The largest proportion of the crowd was from citizens plus the crowd that came from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and a number of foreign tourists
