The American Office of Patents and Trademarks granted Apple a new patent that has been published within 21 patents which are related to control the “IOS” devices remotely while driving. Apple patent is related to a small wireless controller which has a clip shape and this device can be installed on the steering wheel. This device is compatible with all types of cars and allows the driver to control his/her mobile either “iPhone” or “iPod” or “iPad” and turn on or change or stop any song on his/her phone. This step introduced from Apple Company to reduce distraction for many people while driving with other things related to their phones from making a phone call or respond to a call or exchange text messages which leads to the occurrence of many traffic accidents.
This device is ideal for people who connect their phones to the car audio systems where the device has several keys to control the turn on/off, replay or forwarding a song or any kind of music as well as the menu key to access the different albums in addition to the central built-in key which is provided with touch sensitivity system to control and adjust the volume but there are many modern cars that contain audio controllers installed in the steering wheel.
The Apple Company is planning to apply and implement this universal clip system in terms of its compatibility with any steering wheel but the company did not specify the quality of raw materials used in the manufacture of this device whether of aluminum or plastic materials “Plastic” or fiberglass or any other material. According to the patent, the upper part of this wireless device can be rotated up to 180 degrees either right or left in order to give the driver more freedom to use and control the phone very quickly and easily without any distraction while driving.
It is noteworthy that this concept is not new in the industry of electronics where the American “Scosche” company which is specialized in manufacture and develop the accessories for the devices “IOS” devices has launched a wireless devices that can be installed on the steering wheel by the industrial famous installer “Velcro” but this device is dedicated only for the “iPod” devices to allow the driver to control his/her phone remotely without losing his/her sight from the road.
