Apple CarPlay- Fun while driving

Finally, Apple has stepped out of the shades to bring us an official integrated solution car device that will probably transfer your trip journey into a much fun one.

Early this year, Apple announced the CarPlay. What this device does, is that it connects your iPhone to a compatible touchsceen-enabled head unit. Once these two are paired, the magic begins. Firstly, the head unit will display its own version of iOS (which has been designed by Apple itself) complete with icons and even Siri support. The iPhone is completely in control. The head unit is only there to provide a larger touch screen interface. It also give you the option to charging your phone through a USB cable while being connected.

Don’t get excited yet, there is so much more into this. CarPlay has some features that are tied to your iPhone’s settings. Such as voice mails that appear as a list on the head unit or even better you can forward the voice message to the voice mail service of your carrier.

Furthermore, this great device allows you to see all installed CarPlay-compatible apps on the head unit and even save them for next time you connect. However, as Apple is keen on road safety, it only chose relevant apps to while you are driving, so no angry birds or facebook or even twitter.

Now since your iPhone is in charge (not the head unit), different things will happen based on how you set up your phone. The native apps, Phone, Music, Maps and Messages are all here though. Siri will definitely be there and asks you for instructions. CarPlay is a very hands-free orientated device, though you can manually enter details from the touch screen just as you can in your iPhone.

What is more important than music while driving? this has been altered in a way that makes it easier to use while driving, Siri is able to play a certain song through voice activation too plus you’re able to input basic commands such as shuffle.

CarPlay will only work on iPhone models above iPhone 5, unfortunately the rest will not be compatible even if you used an adapter, it will not work on iPads either. This is an iPhone 5 and above party only.
