The cabin is more spacious, especially for the rear passengers who now have more room to enjoy the ride. The 2018 XC60 has the Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform that is shared by the XC90, S90, and V90 vehicles for better handling and superior control.

Design of 2018 Volvo XC60

The exterior of the 2018 Volvo XC60 has been redesigned completely to make the crossover look even more stylish and sportier than before. The interior of the vehicle is luxurious, spacious and fitted with the latest technologies to make it more contemporary.

Redesigned Exterior

The exterior of the 2018 XC60 received a complete design overhaul to make the crossover sportier and classier than before. A lot of the changes are attributed to the fact that this SUV is 3.6-inches longer, which might not seem important, but these added inches to its length allowed the designers at Volvo to make some worth-mentioning refinements to the appearance of the vehicle.

At the first glance, the exterior looks sporty and athletic without being too intimidating. Even though the exterior has been redesigned extensively, the characteristic Volvo design elements are still there. The signature Momentum grille is given a high gloss black finish with a glossy chrome frame that adds the stylish Volvo touch to the vehicle and makes it look dynamic and powerful.

Thanks to the added 3.6-inches in length, the 2018 XC60 now has a longer hood that complements the signature Volvo grille better. The design element that has been retained in the new XC60 is the Thor Hammer LED headlights with T-shape LED accents.

To make the stance of the crossover athletic and agile, the 18-inch 5 Y-spoke silver alloy wheels have been added to increase protection against corrosion. There is also the option of choosing between 19-inch 5-double spoke Black Diamond Cut alloy wheels and 20-inch 5-double spoke tech Black Diamond Cut alloy wheels.

The flowing lines at the sides of the vehicle fit seamlessly with the smaller fenders. The windows have bright chrome surrounds to enhance the look and harmonize it with the sporty theme of the vehicle. The addition of power-operated panoramic roof with power sunshades reduces the glare of the sunlight while keeping the interior cool.

At the rear of the vehicle, the designers have preserved the intricate taillights to keep yet another signature element from the previous design of the vehicle. The dark tinted rear window helps in making the 2018 Volvo XC60 look impressive while ensuring that the windows cut the glare of the sun to keep the temperature down even on hot days.

The fully integrated sport dual round tailpipes with chrome finish bring the performance-oriented look that has become synonymous with the Volvo XC60.

The steering wheel has all the necessary control for functions such as cruise control, infotainment and a lot more for the convenience of the driver. There is an option of a three-spoke Fine Nappa Perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel with heating function that can be selected for added comfort.

The rear seat passengers will have a center armrest that can be folded down to reveal two cup holders. The cabin is fitted with 2-Zone Electrically Controlled Automatic Climate System that the front passenger and the driver can use independently.

As for the in-cabin technology, the 2018 Volvo XC60 is fitted with an 8-inch full graphics driver’s display, while there is also an option of a 12.3-inch display. Head-up display is available as an optional feature, however, rear park assist camera is a standard feature that helps the driver in difficult driving conditions.
