Strong participation from South Africa in Dubai Automechanica 2013

During the period between 11 and 13 of June 2013, Dubai Automechanica exhibition 2013 events began in Dubai where it was expected that the Middle East region and specifically the UAE to be an attracted axis for the vehicle service companies in South Africa.

The recent statistics describes the exports of the automotive sector of South Africa to the UAE increased by more than the double within one year between 2011 and 2012 where the council of exporting the automotive industry in South Africa states that the UAE imported parts and accessories of vehicles from South Africa with 98.54 million dirham in 2012 compared to 44.47 million dirham in 2011. On the other side, automotives exports from the UAE to South Africa grow by $ 19.93 million dirham in 2012.

Vehicles services market in South Africa is growing steadily where the country has a great variety of manufacturing companies that produce components of the original equipments, parts and accessories where there is a high demand for these services worldwide.

The South African manufacturing companies participated strongly in the Dubai Automechanica event in 2013 in order to strengthen its presence in the region which is a fast-growing market for this industry. The South African pavilion at the Dubai Automechanica event 2013 represents an important platform for the most important vehicles services companies in the country. In this year, there was participation from a group of permanent exhibitors such as Triton – Leo group, Onoblatt group, universal clips cc and the Center of automotive components group.

About more details for the participation of South Africa in the Dubai Automechanika event 2013 which is the trade show and networking platform specialized in vehicles services, Norman Lambrecht which is an Executive Director in the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers in South Africa said: “the South African automakers participates in the Dubai Automechanica event 2013 through a national pavilion for the sixth year respectively which emphasizes the importance of the region for the automotive industry in the country where the movement of trade in the automotive sector between South Africa and the UAE has seen a remarkable growth in recent years. The exhibition this year will be an excellent platform to discuss further opportunities of mutual benefits in the light of launching a program to develop the production of new cars in South Africa which aims to double the vehicles production to 1.2 million units annually by 2020”.
