The Emirates Automobile and Tourism club announced the launch of new desert Rally Championship in the new season 2013-2014 which testifies organizing more than 120 events in motor sport in the various state cities and this is mentioned in the press conference at the Dubai club and was attended by Dr. Mohammed bin Sulayem, Federation of cars and motorcycles Chairman – club president, Ahmad Abdouly, head of Olympic Committee and sports federations in the Public Authority for youth and Sports Welfare, Atiq Hassan Mubarak, General Secretary of the Auto Union and representatives of different arenas in the country and a number of drivers.
Bin Sulayem showed his willingness to spend on the organizing of racing rally as it existed 8 years ago but wondered where the cars and drivers. He said that it is impossible to organize a race consisting of a limited number does not exceed 4 or 5 cars, also pointed out that the claim of some to decrease the international races Terms and Conditions can be understood if the conditions were not competent to safety but when the conditions are essentials for the safety of drivers, they cannot be bypassed for their own safety in the first place. Bin Sulayem said that Abu Dhabi Desert Rally is similar to “Dakar Arabs” expressing his willingness to move the rally to States at the borders of UAE but this requires the approval and the desire of others from these countries.
The 2013-2014 season which included a number of global level events headed by the Etihad Airways Grand Award with Formula 1 in Abu Dhabi particularly to move up drivers on the motor sport ladder starting from the karting races till the Grand Award. It is clear the size of the effort by the UAE Club for cars and aims to promote motor sport from its early stages through the expansion and continued growth of UAE Rotax Max Challenge Championship and National Karting Championship which has grown and expanded to be held in five locations and hold a number of events at the same time plus cutting the border to Oman for the first time.
Bin Sulayem said: “Our main goal is to continue on the same path and continue to grow the sport of auto Emirates. The wise government under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan – UAE President – (may Allah protect him) and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum – UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai – (may Allah protect him) contributed largely in promoting motor sport and has pumped significant investments in sports.
