ADNOC, the state-owned oil company in the UAE has decided to start its pay to pump premium flex service across the northern emirates from October 21, 2018. It means motorists will need to either pay the attendant for fuel refilling or opt for self-service on an ADNOC fuel station starting this Sunday. This initiative has been taken by ADNOC to maintain highest standards in its services for customers in the northern emirates.

This service will also be integrated with the advanced smart tag technology for a hassle-free payment solution. Smart tags will be issued by ADNOC to customers, which will enable customers to pay for their fuel through ADNOC Prepaid Smart Wallet instead of paying through cash or cards. This modern-day service by the premier oil company in the UAE was first launched in Abu Dhabi in June 2018.

Details of the Premium Flex Service by ADNOC

The decision to launch the premium flex service follows a free trial period of many months in the northern emirates. During the trial period, motorists were given an opportunity to get familiar with the options in order to avail the self-fueling option conveniently. Even after the launch of this service on October 21, motorists can ask for help from the attendant present at the station if they find any difficulty in refueling their car.

The new service will streamline the process of refilling fuel at ADNOC fuel stations across the northern emirates including Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. The smart tag technology is also a part of this new service, which is considered to be a world-class payment solution. It will help customers pay for their fuel without using their bank cards or cash. An RFID tag will be fixed on the vehicle, which will automatically make a transaction through the ADNOC Prepaid Wallet account of the customer. The ADNOC Prepaid Wallet can also be linked with other services such as Emirates ID Card and ADNOC Plus Card for added convenience in transactions.

The smart tag technology will save the time of motorists and will help avoid long queues on ADNOC fuel stations across the northern emirates. ADNOC has also announced that the elderly persons and people of determination have been exempted from the new service.

Official Statement on the Extension of Pay to Pump Service

Saeed Mubarak Al Rashdi, ADNOC Distribution’s Acting CEO said that the organization aims to achieve higher levels of excellence and quality in its services for customers by introducing the new flex service. He said that the integration of the technology with this new service embodies the ambition of ADNOC to prioritize quality and safety of its customers above anything else. He mentioned that the new service will simplify both self and premium service options, while the smart technology for payments will make life a lot easier for motorists to pay for refueling their car.

Saeed Mubarak Al Rashdi also mentioned that ADNOC will issue 100,000 smart tags under its new premium flex service. He added that motorists in the northern emirates will also be able to benefit from the ADNOC Distribution’s Premium Rewards Programme for using the premium flex service. The rewards can be redeemed by customers on beverages and lubricants in Oasis Convenience Stores. As part of the premium flex service, an attendant will refuel a vehicle, wash the windshield and check tyres for air pressure for a fee of AED 10.
