According to the survey findings, Tuesday remained the most dangerous day of the week throughout the Ramadan of 2017 with 18% of the total road accidents recorded on Tuesday. The second most dangerous day was Monday with 16% road accidents while the least dangerous day of the week was Saturday that recorded 10% of the accidents during last year’s Ramadan.
Most Dangerous Time of the Day
The late-morning hours emerged to be the most dangerous time period for commuting during the Ramadan of 2017 in the UAE. The 10:00 AM-11:00 AM duration recorded 16% of the road accidents in Ramadan, which was the highest when compared to other times of the day. The survey also suggested that 42% of road accidents were recorded between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
Most Dangerous Drivers
As per the survey findings, expatriates caused the most number of accidents and 47% of the road accidents were caused by Indian nationals. Pakistanis caused 14% of the accidents while the Emiratis caused 12% of the accidents during the month of Ramadan last year. The survey also revealed that male drivers caused more road accidents than female drivers during Ramadan.
Most Dangerous Drivers by Age
Another important finding of the survey was that drivers aged above 40 years were involved in more road accidents than young drivers.
