The 2018 Detroit Auto Show proved to be a huge success as car enthusiasts enjoyed the grand display of vehicles from some of the biggest names in the auto industry. The show had a big list of debuts and revealing of new vehicles from brands like Audi, BMW, Ford and many others that made the 2018 Detroit Auto Show a fitting start to a new year for the automotive industry.

Infiniti Q Inspiration Concept

One of the most beautiful cars at the show, the Infiniti Q Inspiration Concept is a breathtakingly gorgeous futuristic sedan that is powered by the world’s first production-ready variable compression ratio engine. Design-wise, the Infiniti Q Inspiration Concept is an absolute stunner with its short hood, a coupe-like fastback roof and sleek sports car lines.

The sedan brings a perfect mixture of flash and class to offer a vehicle that is visually appealing and commanding. At the front is a grille that somewhat resembles the Q50’s grille with new detailing and the bladelike headlights that sweep back to give a very aggressive appearance to the sedan.

On the inside, the Infiniti Q Inspiration Concept houses the latest Nissan advanced driver assistance system to help the driver take control of the vehicle. The seats appear to free float and the center console runs all the way to the back of the cabin where the rear passengers can enjoy two separate touchscreens.

The Infiniti Q Inspiration Concept runs on the VC turbo technology, the world’s first production-ready variable compression ratio engine that combines the performance and speed of a gasoline-powered engine with the torque and efficiency of a diesel engine.

Not much has been revealed by Infiniti about the performance of the vehicle or when the vehicle will be produced.

2019 Acura RDX Prototype

The 2019 Acura RDX Prototype has been extensively designed by the brand to seek automotive excellence in years to come. Acura is calling it a “World-Class Performance SUV,” which fully embodies the new design ideology of the brand and combines it with an exhilarating performance seamlessly.

The 2019 Acura RDX Prototype boasts of groundbreaking technologies along with class-leading cabin space and cargo capacity to set new standards in the luxury crossover SUV segment. This is a 5 passenger crossover that comes with a Diamond Pentagon Grille at the front and a sporty stance that makes the exterior of the vehicle a sight to behold.

The cabin of the RDX Prototype is driver-centric with high-grade materials and latest technologies such as the True Touchpad Interface, 10.2-inch full-HD display and the industry’s most intuitive information control and audio system. Sport seats have been added for the comfort of the passengers while a floating center console and an ultra-wide panoramic power-adjustable moonroof add to the elegance of the cabin.

As for the performance specifications, the 2019 Acura RDX Prototype is powered by a brand new 2.0-litre VTEC Turbo direct-injected engine that is paired with a segment-first 10-speed automatic transmission. The crossover will offer four drive modes that are Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Snow.

More information about this production-ready vehicle is expected to be revealed closer to its release date.

Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept

Dubbed as “a new flagship luxury crossover,” the Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept made its debut at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. The Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept is an angular beauty with an aggressive exterior and a luxurious interior that defines the current design ideology of the brand.

The front of the Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept has the signature dominating grille that covers almost all of the front fascia. There are no chrome accents at the front as this crossover has LED lighting around the grille to add a touch of glamour to the front. A distinctive split rear spoiler gives the vehicle a sporty appearance and adds to its aerodynamics. The 22-inch wheels add to the sporty stance of the vehicle and give it a more fluid appearance.

The cabin is driver-centric with all the latest technologies within easy reach of the driver. The cabin is designed to be exceptionally comfortable and spacious, especially for the rear seat passengers who will also get access to individual display screens for infotainment purpose.

The vehicle is named Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept because the potential of its powertrain is certainly beyond any limitations. It could have plug-in hybrid, gasoline, all-electric, and hybrid or fuel cell powertrain. Not much has been revealed about the powertrain, which will be part of the production model.

Lexus has yet to announce its plan for the Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept.

GAC Enverge Concept

The only all-electric vehicle on our list is the GAC Enverge Concept SUV that comes with an elegant futuristic design and an extremely high-tech interior. Sleek and sporty, this electric SUV has the potential to compete with the likes of Tesla.

The GAC Enverge Concept features a clean front with no grille, instead it is designed to be muscular and curvy. The headlights are called “G Light” and can be slid out of their position to be used as flood lights. The most eye-catching design elements of the GAC Enverge Concept are the butterfly doors and the cameras that act as side mirrors.

Inside, there are virtual reality screens that are embedded in the side windows so that the driver can keep an eye on the blind spots. A floating dashboard with a large singular digital display has been added to the cabin to make it more futuristic.

As for the performance, the GAC Enverge Concept boasts of having a driving range of 370 miles on a single charge. It has a 71kWh battery that can be charged wirelessly and after just a 10 minute charge, the vehicle can be driven for 240 miles.

GAC has not revealed more information about the GAC Enverge Concept or anything regarding the SUV’s future.

Nissan XMotion Concept

Nissan unveiled the Nissan XMotion Concept at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show to the great enthusiasm of the Nissan enthusiasts. Pronounced as “cross motion,” the Nissan XMotion Concept is a “groundbreaking compact SUV” that can comfortably seat 6 passengers in its three-rows of seats while they enjoy the latest Nissan Intelligent Mobility technology.

Nissan has fused Japanese culture with the traditional American-style utility to bring a very handsome vehicle that demands the attention of everyone at the event. The exterior has a very minimal design language with soft curves and smooth lines.

The front has unique U-shaped headlights with a new version of Nissan’s signature V-motion grille that is just as dominating as the current grille design. The stance of the vehicle is agile due to the presence of 21-inch aluminum wheels that give the vehicle an aggressive appearance.

The interior is designed to symbolize Japanese landscape with the use of real wood. It has been crafted using Kanawa Tsugi, a traditional Japanese architectural wood joinery technique, which makes the interior an epitome of sheer luxury. As for the in-cabin technology, the Nissan XMotion Concept is fitted with seven digital screens, an infotainment system that can be controlled by eye movements and gestures, Voice Command System and a lot more.

Nissan has not revealed any information about the performance of the Nissan XMotion Concept.
