Interior
The interior of the 2018 BMW 5 Series sedan is designed to be spacious, driver-centric and comfortable for everyone. The cabin of the sedan is an embodiment of true luxury and convenience where the use of high-quality materials takes the occupants’ comfort to an entirely new level.
At the front of the cabin are 16-way power sports seats with 2-way power side boosters and 4-way lumbar support. The driver will enjoy all of these features along with memory function for the seat and steering wheel. The 2-spoke leather-wrapped multifunctioning sport steering wheel comes with driver’s control so that the driver can have every important control just a fingertip away.
The 40/20/40 split rear seats can be folded to increase the cargo capacity and ensure that the passengers have enough space to stow the luggage. The seats are upholstered with SensaTec while the roof of the vehicle features an Anthracite headliner to complement the SensaTec leatherette.

The 2018 BMW 5 Series sedan is a rear-wheel drive sedan that is also available with all-wheel drive. For the 2018 model, this luxury sedan also comes with a plug-in hybrid model and an M Performance model.
The 2018 BMW 5 Series sedan is available in 7 models with the following engine options.
The standard engine available with the 530i and 530i xDrive models is a 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder engine that has features such as Valvetronic, Double VANOS and high-precision direct injection to make the engine perform better than before. It is capable of producing 248 horsepower and a torque of 258 lb-ft.
The second engine available with the 540i and 540i xDrive models is a 3.0-litre inline 6-cylinder engine that can produce 335 horsepower and a 332 lb-ft of torque.
The newly added M Performance engine available with the M550i xDrive model is a powerful 4.4-litre TwinPower Turbo eight-cylinder engine that can produce 456 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque.
Lastly, standard on the plug-in hybrid models (530e iPerformance and 530e xDrive iPerformance) is the 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor which is powered by a high voltage lithium-ion battery to generate an aggregate 248 horsepower while offering a very good fuel efficiency.
All available engines are paired with an 8-speed STEPTRONIC Sport transmission and also feature Driving Dynamics Control with ECO PRO, COMFORT, and SPORT modes.
