New Radars in Dubai to Catch Speeding Violations between Two Cameras

Over-Speeding is one of the primary causes of fatal road accidents in Dubai. The reckless drivers try to get away with over-speeding between two speed monitoring cameras which leads to serious road accidents. This problem, however, will now be sorted out as the new radars by Dubai Police will monitor the speed violations even between two speed monitoring cameras. The new radars will work on the principle of “Section Control” and help in reducing such violations.

Official Statement on the New Dubai Radars

The Director of Dubai Traffic Police, Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, while commenting on the new Dubai radars told that these radars were under a trial at the Dubai-Hatta Road and soon will be fully implemented on some important roads of Dubai where most of the speeding violations occur. The new radars will be installed, using the vitronic radar. He said that the new section control solution is expected to be successful as its effectiveness is observed worldwide to monitor and reduce the number of speeding violations and road deaths by improving the behavior of motorists.

How the New Radars will Work

The new radars will detect the average speed recorded between two speed cameras and catch motorists for over-speeding. It is an advanced enforcement technique to calculate the average speed and is also known as “Section Control” or “Point to Point Control”. The new radars will calculate the initial speed of a vehicle entering a particular road section covered by these radars. The radars will then calculate the speed of the vehicle while leaving the road and track the average speed on the basis of the interval of time between the Entrance and Exit Point. The driver will be fined if the vehicle’s average speed is higher than speed limit of that particular section of the road.

Impact of the New Section Control Radars

The new radars with their section control ability will be able to cover the areas on different roads between two speed cameras. In this way, the motorists will need to be extra careful as the speeding violations will get recorded on all sections of the roads. It will thus help the traffic authorities to control and reduce the speeding violations.
