Volvo’s Technology

Volvo co-developed their technology with Ericsson, a Swedish telecom company. Their technology is cloud-based, so that means it will require an internet connection. With the help of this system, the cars will be able to send signals and warnings to other vehicles with the same technology.

This vehicle-to-vehicle communication will allow you to send road warnings and more. The driver will be able to send and receive warnings about road conditions and any obstacle in the way. Mercedes’ technology is the same.

Volvo’s v2v communication Technology

Volvo has announced to add this technology to all their cars by the end of 2016, which is not that far away. They announced this while they were introducing their Volvo V90 Cross Country vehicle. V90 is said to be the very first Volvo automobile to get this auspicious technology.

After that, Volvo will add this technology to the rest of the 90 series, including V90, S90 and XC90. However, the internet is customary in this regard so, the drivers may find it hard to send or receive signals and warnings if they don’t have a suitable internet connection.

It is obvious that a technology as good as this cannot remain with only one manufacturer.
