The Exterior – Bigger Is Better

As promised by Honda, the new 2017 redesigned CR-V is bigger and bolder. The new design of the 5th generation Honda CR-V is taller, wider, and longer, which gives it a very distinct Crossover compact look. It also means that the cabin space of this vehicle has also increased. The front fascia of this crossover is swept back, a bigger front and the rear fenders are bigger too. The taillights also receive an exquisite design, and the overall look is bold and aggressive.

Engine, Horsepower and More

This newly redesigned CR-V has a 4 cylinder, 2.4 liter engine that produces a 184 horsepower in the basic models. The higher trim models have 1.5 liter turbo 4 cylinder engine that generates 190 horsepower. Plus, you will also have an option between an all-wheel drive and a front wheel drive. 2017 Honda CR-V will be available in EX-L, EX, LX and touring trims, and all of them will feature a variable automatic transmission.

 

 

Because of its much bigger proportions, the rear seat passengers will have more leg-room. The cargo space available in the rear is also bigger, especially when you fold the rear seats. Without folding the seats, you will have 39 cubic feet of space.

The Front Panel and Interior

The instrument panel at the front is also improved. After much deliberation and client feedbacks, Honda has added a physical volume control knob, much to the relief of their customer base. The steering wheel is the basic Honda steering wheel that you can find in the previous CR-V and Civic models.

New features of the Honda CR-V 2017 include HVAC controls, a center console and the gearshift lever which can be found at the lower dashboard. The higher trim levels have features including a 7 inch touchscreen which doubles as an infotainment system.

As promised, it has Android Audio, Apple Car Play capability, power driver seat, dual zone climate control, heated seats, push button ignition and much more. A sun roof is also included as well as a host of basic safety features.

Safety Features of the Honda CR-V 2017

A number of significant safety features have been installed in the latest model of the Honda CR-V. Some of the more in demand and advanced safety features include, Forward collision warning, Lane Keeping assist, collision mitigation braking, lane departure warning, cruise control, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot warning and high beam headlights to name a few.

 

No price or release date for the new 2017 Honda CR-V has been announced, but it is expected that it will hit the UAE market sometime in the middle of next year.
