Sharjah Police have planned to install the new vitronic radars to better its monitoring system for traffic violations. The new radars will make it tougher for the motorists to commit traffic violations like tailgating and over speeding. The increased numbers of traffic violations recorded in the recent times have made the authorities think of new innovations for improved traffic patrolling.

What is new about the Vitronic Radars

These are not the ordinary radars to catch one or two types of violations but they can catch multiple violations at the same time. These radars can catch the vehicles committing the following violations:

  • Over speeding vehicles
  • Vehicles travelling below the minimum “Speed Limit”
  • Vehicles tailgating (not Keeping Enough Distance from vehicles in front)
  • Heavy vehicles not following their dedicated lanes
  • Heavy vehicles on the roads outside their designated timings
  • Vehicles driven on the hard shoulder/emergency lane

The new radars are going to be remarkably potent and possess diverse capabilities. An official stated that these radars can easily monitor the traffic from two sides, observe six lanes and catch multiple offences at the same time. With that, the radars will also have the ability to read the number plates of the vehicles involved in the violations and catch the violations committed between the speed cameras.

The Traffic Radars to be Equipped with 3G Technology

This is another important factor that will enhance the overall patrolling of vehicles on the road by the traffic police. The new traffic radars will be equipped with 3G technology which will enable them to send immediate impulses to the traffic department for the violations recorded. An official told that the police and traffic personnel continue to attend international conferences and exhibitions to learn about the new innovations in traffic systems introduced by other countries.
