UAE Petrol Prices Rise for the First Time in 8 Months

The prices of petrol and diesel have been increased in UAE for April 2016. The Ministry of Energy has announced the increase of up to 10% from last month in the prices of diesel and petrol for the month of April 2016.

As per the Ministry of Energy, the cost of “super” RON 98 will rise up to 10.2% from Dhs1.47 in March to Dhs1.62 in April.  11% increase will be observed in the price of “Special” 95 hiking from Dhs1.36 to Dhs1.51. At the same time, the price of “E-plus” RON will jump from Dhs1.29 to Dhs1.44, which is approximately an increase of 11.6 percent from last month. Diesel will be sold at Dhs1.56 per liter increasing it by 11.4% from the last month price of Dhs1.40 per liter.  If we compare the prices of fuel in March, then it can be seen that price hike in April is more than 10%. All prices will be effective from the 1st of April 2016.

Petrol and Diesel Prices since July 2015

The fuel and diesel prices in the United Arab Emirates were last increased in August 2015 and since then, a consistent fall in prices can be observed till March 2016. Now, there is once again an increase in the prices for April 2016. Here is a table that displays the fuel prices since July 2015 in UAE.

The highest price for petrol was seen in August 2015 and for diesel in July 2015, which is highlighted in red color, while the current fuel prices are shown in green color.
