Toyota led the way for selling most number of cars in year 2015 making it Toyota’s 4th consecutive year of lead over other car makers. The other top sellers following Toyota for the year 2015 were Volkswagen and General Motors with 9.93 million and 9.8 million car sales respectively.

With the encouraging growth made by Toyota in recent years, the company expects the sales of 10.114 million for the year 2016. The sales forecast for 2015 was 10.098 million and the company sold more than that. With the wide variety of cars that Toyota brings to the market like the Prius Hybrid, Lexus Luxury Models and Camry Sedan, there are little doubts that Toyota might not achieve more than its expectations this year too.

Volkswagen faced a major setback to its sales with the controversy of Diesel Cars Emission Cheating coming to the fore. Before that, Volkswagen was leading the sales till half of the year. Toyota then gained the advantage.
