Following the big reveal of the 2015 Ford Mustang earlier this month, the Mustang faithful will have the chance to claim the first retail 2015 Ford Mustang GT, which will be up in car auction at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale, Arizona headquarters this January.

This year’s proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), an organization which benefits research for type 1 diabetes. Judging by how some of the previous muscle-car debut auctions at Barrett-Jackson have gone in the past, make sure to bring your checkbook—last year’s event witnessed the first 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray fetch $1.1 million, with all of the cash also going to charity.

The winning bidder, in true Ford Mustang tradition, is free to customize the first 420-hp 2015 Ford Mustang GT inside and out with a range of color and stripe selection. Also up to the winner is whether the car will have a manual or an automatic transmission.

“Ford Mustangs have always been among the most popular collector cars at Barrett-Jackson Collector Car events,” said Barrett-Jackson president Steve Davis in a statement. “While every collector wishes they had snapped up the first Mustang sold in 1964, this is an opportunity to realize that dream in a different way.”

Plenty of older Ford Mustangs will also be crossing the block during Barrett-Jackson’s event, which runs from January 12 to January 19, 2014. Some of these include a 1965 Ford Mustang convertible with a factory 200-hp V-8, a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 fastback, and a 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302.

Ford is also offering ride-and-drive and hot lap opportunities during the auction, which will take place at WestWorld. Available for the hot lap activity are a Shelby GT500, Focus ST, and Fiesta ST. Also on view will be the promotional “Need for Speed” Ford Mustang.

Be sure to check out the Barrett-Jackson auction on January 18th for the full experience and to see the first 2015 Ford Mustang GT sold off.
