200,000 units of Transit Connect vans and sports utility vehicles (SUV) of the Escape type are en route back to the dealers and assembly plants from the car market due to problems that have been identified in the seat belt as well as the instrument panel.
Ford Motor is recalling these automobiles in a bid to restore the faith of the masses involved in the car search process and to try to hinder them from having to buy any car other than their own. In the same breath the Michigan based car manufacturer maintains that there have no reports of any injuries or deaths resulting from the glitches in the vans and SUVs.
When the vehicles are started, the warning lights on the instrument panel as well as accompanying chimes may not go on. In the case of any other problems happening to the car, the driver may not be alerted to these and as such make driving the vehicles very risky. The cars involved in this were manufactured in Spain between May and December of 2014 as well in Kentucky between May 2014 and February 2015.
The Transit vans are also being recalled due to a seat belt labeling issue.
