With the numerous processes involved in the manufacturing a motor vehicle as well as the number of departments involved plus the sheer amount of logistics required to come up with the finished product, there is no further explanation that is needed to justify the widespread quality control and assurance systems employed by car makers.

The integral participants of the automotive export industry do extensive car assessment so as to weed out the units with defects and if the said defect is widespread, measures are undertaken so as to fix them before the units can shipped out to the various parts of the world. With all these measures in place however, there are some units that make it off the production line and into the car market with some glitches and faults.

A perfect example is the 2015 Nissan Armada that has been recalled by the manufacturer due to a fault in it that could see the car roll away when parked. Reports filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration show that due to interference between the parking rod and the transmission housing, the parking pawl may not fully engage; a condition that may allow the vehicle to move with the shifter in the ‘Park’ position, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
