Eco-Friendly Cars Are Running on Air

A separate source of energy used to run car engines has been invented different from the ordinary fuel and electric power known to the world today. Amazingly, cars could run one day on dry air which is never thought about in the car history. Research indicates that iron-based substance can be used to act as a catalyst to speed up energy generation in a hydrogen peroxide-based fuel cell instead of the platinum. This has given opportunity to a new route to make fuel cells more efficient. This window of opportunity can be further be utilized to accommodate the use of dry air to run a car for a day.

This modification makes the hydrogen peroxide cell 140 times more active than the hydrogen cell yet its cost efficient because hydrogen peroxide storage and transportation is easier compared to hydrogen. This reduces the car price and increases the car rating of the car in aspect of performance of a vehicle that uses a hydrogen peroxide compared to the hydrogen cell.

A fuel cell combines hydrogen with oxygen to produce electricity, heat and water which is eco-friendly though the storage in addition safety precautions favors the hydrogen peroxide as a source in fuel cells. On a sunny day, you can capture oxygen from air and use a photovoltaic cell to covert oxygen to hydrogen peroxide in order to produce electricity and water. With slight modification and technology advancements, hydrogen peroxide fuel cells should be able to power automobiles using oxygen from the air.

The hydrogen peroxide-based fuel cells are now considered the best option for use as a power source at space stations, remote military camps and for underwater power requirements. All the improvements in this fuel cell technology are courtesy of Mandal and his collaborators and are all  published online in the journal of The American Chemical Society.

This principle is already implements in vehicles on the car market like Toyota unveiled the Marai, one of the first hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle for commercial car export business as well as Honda already implemented the principle. This different source of energy is different from the fossil fuel which is not environment friendly due to the generation of greenhouse gas to the atmosphere.
