Are You Prepared To Go Green in Cars?

The government has an ongoing campaign to set up several charging stations for electric Dubai cars that operate in Dubai. The electric cars have zero emission and noise free cars that are eco-friendly because they don’t emit the gas of fossil fuel used by the ordinary cars on the Dubai car market. By 2021, with 10000 electric vehicles, Dubai is expected to be as green as a forest of a million trees. Though in Dubai, there is a general perception that why bother with electric cars yet fuel is cheap.  This has greatly decreased the popularity of the EVs on the car market and on Dubai streets. In 2011, out of 1000 cars there was one electric car though it’s now one out of 60 which is attributed to the government’s effort to sell the EVs idea to its natives.

However there is no standardization authority that recognizes EVs meaning there are no regulations governing electric cars and not even a category to register them. The police own a few of these zero emission speedster and waste management companies use these EVs to collect waste in addition to keeping waste off the streets. Most of the show rooms in Dubai contain luxury and fast cars that are not environmental friendly mainly because EVs have not yet made an impact in the car export business to earn space in the show rooms. Companies like Toyota haven’t yet stocked the electric cars though they have intentions of making electric Toyota taxis in the near future.

The EVs have a very low demand which has made car dealers flee the business of selling and buying electric cars. This calls upon the extra effort by government to discover a way to push e-cars and set up charging stations in order to attract people into using electric cars.
