The Industry of Vehicle History Checks

With the advent of technology, the car industry has seen many changes that would not have been imagined by the founder of the internal combustion engine. Companies like Tesla have embraced the electric car sector whereas in the UK driverless cars are becoming a reality.

One sector however that has been left for dead is the vehicle history checks. Not that it has no value, it does. Many prospective buyers do a car assessment and include it in this as a check of the history of the car. Ideally this car information should be freely accessible to the public but in the UK one has to dish out an amount between £3 and £20.

An alternative to charging the public to access this car history information would be to charge insurance companies to market to prospective buyers or better yet selling big data to car manufacturers. In place of the paid services, the data could be provided for free to the public in exchange for them providing personal demographic data.

This data could then be analyzed and a report formulated and sold to the manufacturers. Manufacturers can make better informed decisions about certain models. This also helps make the car acquisition process better for the prospective buyer in the given target demographic.

Also if there is consent from the user, insurance companies could market their wares to a specific demographic before the model has even left the manufacturer’s line.

It is high time therefore that technology stepped in and proceeded to unseat the current situation as regards this sector of the automobile industry for its own betterment.
