It has been officially declared that Daimler AG’s Mercedes-Benz will recall more than 147,000 mid-size sedans and station wagons produced from 2013-2015 to check for the risk of engine fires.

The risk basically lies in the rubber seal surrounding the engine compartment, this might fall on to the exhaust system hence increasing the risk of an under-hood fire

Major versions for the cars to be recalled are the CLS-class sedan and both sedan and wagon E-class.

According to Mercedes U.S. dealers will begin informing car owners and repair the cars in mid-March.

Last week also, automaker recalled  149,000 CLS-class and E-class cars in Europe and China for the same problem.

Now might be the best time to sell your car before it loses more of its value.
