Although Abu Dhabi car dealerships deal in different new and used cars. Even then there are some cars that are as classic and evergreen, no matter how many times they have been sold and purchased. As you can see in the picture, it is clearly understandable that this car used to showcase luxury, style and supremacy in the society during previous eras. Now, the quality lovers opt to buy these cars just in order to keep themselves conjoined with the undiminishing style of the thirties.

Most of the people consider Mercedes-Benz lifer Rudolf Uhlenhaut to be just an outcome of extreme engineering, but in actual, it is much more than that. It is itself a directorial visual of the Company’s entire era of motorsport. It has been named after the name of the engineer who crafted it. His engineering achievements and efforts are itself a proof that he was a master of his field. He not only marked his presence in the automobile industry, but with the launch of this car model, he confirmed his supreme status as a motoring legend.

As Uhlenhaut’s was born in London, his first language was English. His parents were German. His father was a banker, who worked in an overseas branch of Deutsche Bank. During his college years, the first ever assignment he made was in 1931. As per the assignment, he was supposed to assist a vehicle testing process. During the assignment itself, Uhlenhaut noticed that he had a talent to become a development tester and driving engineer. To testify his skills, he drove everything he could, including three-axle off-road trucks and 500K supercharged roadsters.

Later in 1936, he started focusing on racecars. He also pioneered in developing powerful pre-war open-wheelers. During the 50s, he managed to gain global popularity by the birth of Mercedes-Benz 300 SL. Later in 1952, he unveiled the first look of the car mentioning it as one of his crowning achievements.

People of the modern age thank Uhlenhaut because he was one of those practical engineers, who are rarely found – the ones who completely understand that how they should behave and how sporty cars behave. Instead of being limited to the heavier engine from a Mercedes saloon, Uhlenhaut experimented with low drag and weight saving for 300 SL. Furthermore, he portrayed his proficiency by accumulating ‘aerodynamicist’ to the job designation as well.

He achieved this by not only styling low-drag cars. Instead, he opted typically clever engineering. What he did was he canted the straight-six motor by 50 degrees towards the left. Then he added a dry-sump lubrication system onto it in order to drop it inside the engine bay. This alteration gave Gullwing a low air resistance and low front.

300 SLR a.k.a. Uhlenhaut Coupé, the race version of this car model regularly beats 3.0 and 4.1 litre Ferraris on Europe’s race tracks. On the other hand, the road-going model remains to be one of the world’s greatest motoring achievements.
