Dubai’s Lincoln MKT, The all new Lincoln

Dubai is the very well-known for new and used car export business. Over here, cars of different brands are purchased and sold. UAE has its own automobile market that has been topping all the record breaking charts these days. Speculations are being made that the sale rate will be even more in the year 2014. For now, our main concern in this article is to know about the Lincoln MKT that is being driven in the Dubai market. First of all, tell us that when was the last time when you saw the word “Lincoln” published in the press?  Well, we are sure that you might be scratching your head at the moment. In actual, there’s no need to do so because the last time it was used was in December 2011. Since then, this brand has been struggling hard to pick itself up again from its degraded market value.

Speaking of now, it has been seen that Ford is having extremely high hopes to restore the lost prestige of this car. The proofs came forward when the CEO of the Company, Alan Mulally unburdened Aston Martin, Volvo and lodged up the Mercury division by keeping the Lincoln going as it is alongside the Blue Oval. MKT is based on the Ford Flex that is the most comfortable large crossover that can be seen around. There’s no doubt that the Lincoln is sleeker in design, lower and longer as compared to Flex, but the fact is that it has lost its practicality. It has a 2,995mm wheelbase which makes ample leg, head and shoulder room in the first two rows. This is more than sufficient to accommodate five adults. Apart from this, the third row can facilitate sitting space for couple of small bags or kids. The car is bundled with panoramic roof.

If we discuss about the look of the car, then it can be said that it looks more like an estate than a conventional crossover. Undeniable fact is that it is visibly longer and larger than any estate. Nobody would ever mistake it for an SUV. On the other side, the exterior has been kept quite similar to the previous model year. Slight changes have been made in grille. In totality, the MKT looks pretty much awkward, especially when you view it from the front side. Thankfully, the only graceful thing is the beltline that has been kinked up near the C-pillar.

The twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre EcoBoost engine (of 35bhp) of this supercar is extremely powerful. The vehicle consumes 16.7 litres of fuel for covering 100km. The test for conducted for four days and then this result was calculated. So, if you think that you need a car for travelling small distances or you think that you can afford to refill it over and over again, then you should think of investing your money in this car. Otherwise, there are several cars in Dubai to look at!
