Ferrari 288 GTO (1984-1986)

The bolide has a central door 2.8-liter V8 engine. Trying to decipher the name, the most logical thing would be 2 and 8 refer to the size of the propellant, while the latter 8 must indicate the number of cylinders. 272 units of the model were manufactured between 1984 and 86. The power of this machine created by Studio Pininfarina was awesome. Two huge turbos allowed the 288 perfectly develop its 400 hp and reached a top speed of 305 km / h. The FIA Group B was canceled due to the large number of fatal accidents with these cars so potent.
Ferrari F40 (1987-1992)
This is undoubtedly the father of so-called supercars. It is “only” the last car designed by Enzo Ferrari, and therefore the “Commendatory ” decided to create a street car out of the box. The F40 was designed for the Italian manufacturer returned to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Developed earlier in the season when cars started using aerospace materials, its body was made of carbon, Kevlar, Nomex fiber and aluminum. The V8 engine was inherited from the 288 GTO and was also placed in the central part.
