The engineers at Chevrolet have designed the 2018 Camaro to be 90kg lighter with 28% more structural rigidity than the previous model. The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro is a rear-wheel drive sports car that is also available with all-wheel drive. In order to improve the handling of the vehicle, the engineers have added aluminum suspension components, which have reduced the unsprung mass. The all-new Chevrolet Camaro offers two high-performance engine (V6 engine and V8) and transmission options. Both engines have been tuned to offer superior performance, quick acceleration and smooth ride at all times.
The first engine option is a 3.6-litre V6 engine featuring Direct Injection System and Variable Valve Timing to offer efficient performance. The engine is capable of producing 335 horsepower and 383Nm of torque and has a fuel efficiency of 12.6L/100 Km. The engine can be alternatively paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission. When the engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the Camaro can go from 0 to 100 Km/h in just 5.1 seconds however, it accelerates from 0 to 100 Km/h in 5.2 seconds with the 6-speed manual transmission.
The second engine option is a 6.2-litre V8 engine featuring Active Fuel Management System, Direct Fuel Injection System and Variable Valve Timing for an efficient performance. This engine is capable of producing 455 horsepower and 614Nm of torque and offers a fuel efficiency of 12.6L/100 Km. When it is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the vehicle can go from 0 to 100 Km/h in just 4 seconds however, with the 6-speed manual transmission, the Camaro can go from 0 to 100 Km/h in just 4.3 seconds.
The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro is available in 1LT, 2LT and SS trim levels. The SS trim level comes with Driving Mode Selector that offers Sport, Tour Snow/Ice and Track modes, which the driver can select according to preference.
